This is a fabulously simple activity that kids can enjoy, even if the warmer weather isn't here to stay!
What you need:
Food colouring (red, green, yellow, blue, orange etc)
Various clear containers (of varying size and shape if possible)
What to do:
Assemble the clear containers next to each other on a flat surface
Pour a few drops of food colouring into each of the clear containers.
Pour clean water into each container to reveal the coloured water.
The children loved moving and handling the water between containers, hearing it splash and splosh, measuring it out, dipping things into it (like leaves and flowers) and exploring what happened when the coloured waters got mixed with each other!
A great invitation to play and introduction to science activity.
