Pulses & Pasta Play

February 18, 2019

What you need:

An assortment of dried pulses and pasta. (Try to use foods that vary in colour and texture if you can. We used red lentils, green lentils, broth mix, yellow split peas, plain white rice, wholegrain rice, fusilli pasta and wholegrain penne pasta)

Jars (We used plastic sweetie jars, but you can use whatever you are comfortable with your child using.)

Wooden spoons

Measuring spoons

Baking/cake trays

What to do:

Set it all out and simply...

Let them PLAY!

What we learn:

We practise moving and handling

We develop our fine motor skills

We explore textures and colours

We use our imaginations

We can practise counting and measuring

We develop our vocabulary and self confidence
